Heart monitoring

Description and scope

Heart monitoringThis project aims to improve the lives of patients in cardiac rehabilitation by means of a peripheral heart rate monitoring system.

Due to the high number of patients with heart disease and bearing in mind the benefits of cardiac rehabilitation (CR) programmes, this therapy should be available to as many people as possible.

Bearing this in mind, the technological company Nuubo has designed a biomedical T-shirt that allows heart tele-monitoring that includes alert and control software tailored to the patient's requirements. This instrument makes it possible to capture, record and submit the electrical activity of the heart to the control centre via phone or computer. The signal can be displayed in real time and stored for analysis.

The University Hospital Virgen Macarena is currently involved in a validation project, the objectives of which are:

  1. To evaluate the effectiveness and quality of the system.
  2. To test the feasibility of its application to cardiac rehabilitation.
  3. To define the most appropriate implementation process.
